On Thursday, October 19, 2019, the 77-minute documentary by Swiss journalists Maria Roselli and Marco Tagliabue will be shown for the first time by the first channel of the Swiss Italian-language radio and television station RSI.
In “La Strategia- il caso Novartis” the protagonists of the highly praised corruption scandal of the multinational pharmaceutical industry, the three public interest witnesses under the guidance of criminal lawyer Pavlos Sarakis, as well as Greek Officials, reveal facts and aspects of the case under scrutiny of American authorities.
Pavlos Sarakis appealed in August 2016 before the American Authorities (Securities and Exchange Commission & Department of Justice), for unfair practices of the multinational pharmaceutical company Novartis in Greece, based on the US federal law (FCPA). The publication of the investigation by the American Authorities with the assistance of the Greek Public Interest Witnesses/Whistleblowers for Novartis in December 2016, caused the activation of the Greek Justice as well, with the case now being investigated on American as well as Greek soil.
On June 24, 2020, Novartis was ordered to pay over 300 million dollars in fines and penalties to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) for its unfair practices in Greece.
